Sorrento Express offers secure online shopping to individuals with payment by credit/debit card (Master/Visa/Maestro/Amex/Eurocard) with billing address, start date (where applicable) and expiry date.

As you browse our publications you can put titles into a shopping basket using the Add to Basket button. At any time you can click the View Basket button to see what you have in your shopping basket. You can also remove items or decide how many of each you wish to order. When you proceed to check-out you will be asked for various details including your credit/debit card details.

If you have a problem with placing your order, please email: support@sorrentoexpress.com. If you prefer to telephone 020 8843 4990 . When you place your order online you should receive an email within 5 mintue confirming receipt and the total to be charged to your card.

How does the Shopping basket work?

Adding books to the basket

Whenever you find a book that you think you want to buy, click on the 'Add to Basket' button at the top of the page. (You can always take it out, or change the quantity later).

Buying the food in your basket

You can buy the food in your basket at any time. To do this, click on the 'View Basket' button at the top of the page. When you click on this button you'll be taken straight to the basket, which will contain all the books that you have put into the basket in the last twenty four hours. Here you can change the quantity you want to buy for each item, or remove an item if you've decided against buying it. For more help on completing the order process, go to How to Checkout

How to Checkout

Checking out for the first time

To go through the order process, you must first click on 'View Basket' at the top of the page. If you have not put anything in your basket yet, it will tell you that the basket is empty. If you have put all the items that you want to buy into your basket, and you've adjusted the quantity and clicked 'Confirm changes to basket' as appropriate, you're ready to buy.

So, click on 'Continue with Order'. Because this is your first time ordering from the Multilingual Matters/Channel View Publications website, we need to set up an account for you, so you will be asked for your email address, and then a password, which you are required to enter twice to avoid confusion resulting from typing errors.

You will then get through to the order page, which shows you your basket again, and a series of boxes requesting your personal details. Unless boxes are marked optional, you will need to fill them in to proceed. After the first time you do this, the system will remember your details and you will not need to fill them in again.

Towards the end of the page, where it says 'Enter Shipping details' you need to select a shipping option from the drop-down menu. If you forget to fill in one of the mandatory boxes, you will not be allowed to proceed to the Final Check screen. Instead, the box or boxes you have forgotten to fill in will be highlighted in red, so that you can easily see what's wrong. Once you're sure you've filled in everything correctly, click on 'Continue' This will take you to the Final Check screen, which shows you where the books will be delivered to, your payment method, and the total value of your order, including a postage and packing/shipping charge (details below), which has now been calculated on the basis of the choice you made on the Order page. If you're happy with the details displayed on this page, click on 'Place the order and charge as shown'. This is the point at which the order goes through, and this is confirmed by the next page you see. You will also receive an email confirmation, (usually within the next few hours) when your order has been sent to the suppliers, Multilingual Matters/Channel View Publications

How does my account work?

Once you have set up an account by ordering a food, your account details will be kept securely on our system, and they are accessible to you (and you only) at any time. All you need to do is click on 'Your Account', and then log in by entering your email address and password. If you have forgotten your password, click on 'Email me my password'. When you get into the Account Page, you can edit any of the details in your account. When you're happy with the changes you've made, click on 'Confirm my Account Details'
